Exploring, in the wake of Theodore Roosevelt

One of the most unusual of “Angry Planet” episodes was the story of our trip to Brazil to search for the lost boats of the 1914 Theodore Roosevelt expedition down the River of Doubt, later named the Rio Roosevelt. Deep in Amazonia, we chased caimans, ran white water and explored the climate changes affecting the river and the jungle. We did it as a flag expedition with The Explorers Club, which both George and I are members of. In fact, I was Chair of the Canadian Chapter (Ontario-Nunavut region) of The Explorers Club for 2013-2015, and now George has taken over chairing our very active regional meetings.
